Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in alignment with the Iowa Dental Board, ADA and the IDA’s recommendations to postpone elective care for dental offices, we will only be seeing emergency patients in our Iowa City office location through Friday April 30, 2020.
Our business office will be available from 9am-3pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday until April 30, 2020 (subject to change).
If you are a patient you will need to be evaluated by your general dentist to determine a diagnosis and confirm that emergent extraction is indicated (pain, swelling, abscess formation, etc.)
Patients that have a fever, respiratory symptoms, flu-like symptoms, or has been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, we will not be able to see them for at least 14 days.
For patients that have traveled recently, we will screen them by phone, to determine if they can be seen in our office.
Considering the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Influenza outbreaks, we want our patients to feel secure coming to Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center of Iowa City. Our patients’ health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. Please be assured that we are monitoring the American Dental Association (ADA) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for healthcare providers.
If you have influenza-like symptoms such as fever, cough, or runny nose, or have traveled outside of the country in the last 14 days, please call us to discuss your appointment.
Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center of Iowa City has always and will continue to implement the following measures to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for our patients and staff:
Treatment room surfaces sanitized before and after every patient visit
Common areas, waiting room and restroom surfaces sanitized multiple times a day (including door handles, counters, pens, etc.)
All staff wash hands multiple times a day and abide by wash in/wash out protocols.
Staff members not feeling well are required to stay home until symptom free x 24 hours without the use of NSAIDS per the CDC recommendation

Our surgeons practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from corrective jaw surgery to wisdom tooth removal. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and TMJ disorders, and perform a full range of dental implant and bone grafting procedures.
Our staff is trained and equipped to provide IV general anesthesia within our state of the art office setting.
